What we do

Nonprofit Advisory

Leading a nonprofit has always been tricky. Today, it is genuinely hard. Federal funding has contracted sharply. Foundations are responding — but unevenly, and often with conditions. Demand for services is rising while budgets are shrinking. CEOs are managing staff burnout, board anxiety, and funder conversations simultaneously — often without a single trusted advisor who has no agenda but theirs.

We help leaders navigate this hall of mirrors — competing agendas, accounting quirks, funding pressures, board politics, and staff burnout.
To help you thrive, not just survive.

Inflection Points

Advisory services are focused on inflection points — moments of expansion, contraction, or reinvention. Examples include creating a new funding stream, navigating a merger, filling senior talent gaps, revising governance, reprioritizing investments. Today the most likely inflection point is funding disruption. A major grant has been reduced, withdrawn, or conditioned on organizational changes you haven't made yet. A funder wants to see a sustainability plan, a new revenue strategy, or evidence that you can operate without government subsidy. You need to respond with clarity, not panic.

We work with you to filter out distractions, find the most useful data to make decisions, navigate complex negotiations, and act with courage and clarity.

Cutting Through the Noise

You may have engaged board members and funders, but you will also encounter personal challenges and disruptive people pursuing their own agenda. Helpful signals often get lost in the noise. Funders are among the loudest voices in that noise — and sometimes the least objective. We help you hear what they are actually telling you, separate the conditions from the pressure tactics, and respond in ways that protect the organization's autonomy and mission.

We're experienced CEOs, board leaders, and founders ready to guide you through your chaos — using lessons learned from facing our own. We offer the collective wisdom of a wide range of successful leaders to help you find your best path forward among conflicting inputs and forces.
Behind the Process

How It Works

Every engagement begins with a conversation. What is the primary inflection point? What are the assets & liabilities in this moment? What expertise is missing? From there, we co-design a plan of record — with clear roles and responsibilities. We work together on the path forward.
